Prasad and Deepika Vedpathak named their famous social media moniker – Prasika by combining their names. Known for their lighthearted and bubbly content the couple has a following in lakhs and receives love from their fans all over the globe.
Their content revolves around everyday relatable topics like food, comedy, lighthearted conversations and vlogs. The Vedpathaks have a sunny disposition and their comments are filled with an outpouring of love and appreciation. Through their vlogs they regularly share insights into their personal life and open a window allowing us to get to know them better and on a more personal level. And one of the decisions- which often gets a ton of questions- is that of being child free.
Prasika stands firm with their decision of being child free – they say that they have come to this decision together and after much deliberation. Stating that going child free is not a decision that has come too easy but is in no way unimportant. Instead of having their own children, the couple thinks it’s their responsibility to try and take care of as many orphan girls as they can. This has become their priority and they have already adopted the financial responsibility of 4 girls taking care of their education, extra curricular and other needs such as housing, food and clothing.
The couple is always ready to step in and help out all children in need and are working towards setting up a system that allows them to adopt the financial responsibility of even more children, offering them education and a great life. Their aim is to adopt the financial responsibility of 100 orphaned girls so they can leave a legacy of social work and philanthropy to inspire others and also truly help those in need.
They claim “Our decision to be child free should not be confused as a disliking for children. Rather, we love children a lot and with this decision we were able to look after and take care of so many nanhi jaans”.
The couple very skilfully utilizes social media and its business tools to provide financial support to the kids they have taken under their wings. They hold Consumer awareness programs, Blood donation camps on Birthdays, and donate for cancer research. They have developed multiple intellectual properties such as their clothing brand ‘Zidd’ which has a unique T-shirt called ‘Black Blood’, proceeds of which are contributed for cancer research. They are associated with many national and international brands providing them social media marketing services via their digital handles. This couple is planning to use all its acquired fame to showcase the importance of helping others. They deeply believe in being the change they want to see around them.
Deepika Vedpathak says, “Motherhood is a beautiful thing, and it comes in many forms. The love a woman has for her child – the one she has fed, cared for, wiped tears of… the idea of motherhood in our country is very one dimensional and specific and it harms not only women but kids too.”. They believe, “Our country is exploding with people and what we have in population is contrasted darkly by amenities and care for this population. We have the youngest population and what such young impressionable minds need is love, and care.”
