Before Australia lost the early wicket of Travis Head when they entered to bat, India was eventually bowled out for 109.
In fact, when Ravindra Jadeja castled Marnus Labuschagne in the fourth over of the innings, Australia might have been in for a further setback. The Australian hitter was stopped by the umpire for a no ball check as he started to head for the dressing room, but it turned out that Jadeja had in fact overstepped, giving Labuschagne a chance to save himself.
The three batters who died while attempting to attack were the captain Rohit Sharma (12), Ravindra Jadeja (4), and Shreyas Iyer (0). In Indore, Rohit chose to bat after winning the toss.
KL Rahul was replaced in the starting lineup by Shubman Gill, a new batsman, while Umesh Yadav took the place of Mohammed Shami, a pacer who is resting for the game.
