Varun Dhawan and Nitesh Tiwari, as well as the rest of the Bawaal team, have replied to claims that their movie is “insensitive.”
Bawaal, a romantic drama by Nitesh Tiwari, has been the center of attention ever since it debuted on Prime Video India last Friday. Nitesh and stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor addressed to criticism for making an unrealistic and offensive comparison between the lead couple’s romance and World War II in a new interview with Pinkvilla.
One of the film’s controversial quotes comes from a Holocaust survivor who claims that “every relationship goes through its Auschwitz,” alluding to the notorious concentration camp operated by Nazi Germany where untold numbers of Jews were murdered. Another controversial statement made by Janhvi’s character claims that every person is a Hitler since they are all greedy.
“You start looking at a film with a magnifying glass, you’ll find problems with every piece of work created,” Nitesh remarked in the same interview. If you opt to see something with a magnifying glass, there will always be issues. This is not how you should view a movie.
