Many people in the Chicago area are searching for ways to warm up before heading out for the day because the cold weather is expected to stay for a while.
Although many people prefer their warm beverages to be tea or coffee, hot chocolate is a popular winter beverage that is often associated with holiday celebrations.
A Yelp blog listed the top 50 places to get hot chocolate in the US and Canada, as the hunt for the greatest hot chocolate becomes more intense for many people.
Fortunately for people living in the Chicago region, three Chicago locations made the list—one of them even making it into the top 10.
While shops in coastal cities made up the majority of the list, Maverick Chocolate Co. in Cincinnati, which ranks No. 45 on the list, is one example of a Midwestern city that was represented.

Regarding Chicago’s representation, Logan Square’s Katherine Anne Confections took the top spot at No. 8, garnering praise for their small-batch baked goods and use of regional ingredients.
Chocolat Uzma in Pilsen was ranked No. 29, and Wildberry Pancakes & Café, which has two locations downtown and two in the suburbs, was ranked No. 33.
The top spot in the country went to XOX Truffles in San Francisco, whose distinctive hot chocolate flavor selections were highlighted in the list entry.
