Hi Erin, I am so thrilled to be chatting with you about Glam Box Beverly Hills, your biz journey, a day in the life right now, and plans for 2024 and beyond. Let’s kick it off with what was the inspiration behind creating Glam?
My inspiration behind creating Glam, comes from many different reasons and aspects and my love for beauty and different products I have used over the years or perhaps things that were not at my disposal that now I hope to create for others.
I have wanted to create a brand that is luxury, affordable and makes all women feel and look their best. And I hope that is what Glam does for all of our consumers.
Tell me more about Glam Box Beverly Hills (and why we all need some glam in our lives). You have multiple products that range from beauty accessories to now launching this week a hair styling wax stick and a lip balm!
Well firstly, even on a bad day, who doesn’t want to feel somewhat glam or put together? I have MANY days where I am running around with no makeup, activewear on, and hair pulled back. I am creating Glam to be the product you can throw on, or just take with you in your handbag, whether that is putting your hair up with a pretty color scrunchie, throwing a hair clip in, or wearing our lip balm on your daily to help you feel that little bit more vibrant without the full the ‘glam vibes.’
What is in the works for 2024 and beyond?
So much it overwhelms me thinking about it, to be honest! However, it is all exciting, and I am very grateful for the opportunities that lie ahead as we prepare to launch into some retailers in the US.
What is the most rewarding thing about owning your own biz?
I get asked this question a lot, and I think (understandably) for a lot of people, they have a totally different thought on what being your ‘own boss’ actually really means. People don’t ever see the hard times, the stress, the sleepless nights, the worries, the funding, constantly thinking about things, and planning ahead. It really is 24/7 and not that ‘glam,’ but with it also comes a huge responsibility.
However, besides those stressful and hard times, which really will always be there, you should go into owning your own business with a positive mindset, believing in what you are doing, and most importantly, loving it! I am lucky enough to love what I do. Not every day is great, and some days there are a lot of WTF’s, but I love being able to do what I want, when I want, and create brands that I genuinely love and have a passion for and see the success slowly come. Because it can at times be a slow hard slog!
Can you share a challenge that you have overcome that you think might help others?
For me honestly, it can just be the daily grind and hustle to make things work! That can be a challenge within itself, and if I am not working 24/7, there is no business or no money coming in to make things work. I would always say now to be organized, stay on top of things, and ask for professional help in areas you aren’t sure of.
The daily life of Erin?
I wake up between 4:30-5 am daily, work out, then have an hour at a coffee shop after my workout to go over emails and things I have to do for the day ahead. Then, I start the day, and depending on meetings, my days are usually fairly busy and crammed. When we don’t have meetings, it’s working on strategies, content, branding, and all things for my brands, etc.! And then I connect at the end of the day (whatever time that is) with my husband.
