Entrepreneur and businessman Caleb Boxx (@calebboxx) came from a small town in Missouri that had a very corporate lifestyle, which he realized wasn’t for him. From a very young age, he saw that college didn’t guarantee anything. He saw other people’s failures and didn’t want to repeat them. At 16 he knew he wanted to commit to YouTube and business.
After quitting his job and dropping out of high school, with only $200 in the bank, and connected with a YouTuber. He brough Caleb on as an editor, and quickly became so impressed, with Caleb, he added him to group calls with other YouTubers and break down the analytics of YouTube. He became so good that he could craft a formula to YouTube.
The team figured out a YouTube model, YouTube Automation. And from there, he took off. Friends began seeing huge successes, and by 18, Caleb was making 6 figures a year. Caleb says when he became master of his craft, he became invaluable.
But what exactly is YouTube Automation? It’s a business model where a “CEO” of multiple channels hires freelancers to create content for YouTube videos, paying them a flat rate, and making sure the best content goes out at a consistent time. Today, Caleb Boxx is the name behind several YouTube channels, with a total accumulation of 3 million subscribers and 400 million views, making it clear his model and YouTube expertise really works.
Okay, but how does it work? Let’s dive into it.
Take the YouTube channel Looper. Looper uses the YouTube Automation business model and is focused on entertainment, and often highlights actors, movies, tv shows, and other topics. But, go ahead and watch a video or even just a clip from their channel. You’ll notice that there is a narrator – who remains offscreen. They are reading from a script, prepared for them. And the edits are on point.
So, someone had to narrate, write a script for the video, and someone else had to edit the images and sounds. But behind all those freelancers and content creators is a “CEO,” managing the team. That’s the role that Caleb plays.
Caleb also has this piece of expertise to share about YouTub algorithm: “Make a very enticing thumbnail, viral video idea, and very good video that keeps people to watch entire video long. From there it’s just posting a lot of content and riding “trend waves” whenever something is trendy.”
Such as what? For Caleb that means him and his team “Post content in various niches from sports to celebrity gossip. Anything that we can add commentary to. We try to be on top of the trends before everybody else and try to go at YouTube with an angle to gain as much traffic and views as possible.”
Keeping up with current trends and sticking to his YouTub Automation model has meant Caleb has seen swift success. Initially, Caleb was working 40-plus hours a week, but that has slowly been shaved down to just a few hours per week as he manages the team.
Which means that he’s cracked the code, and found a different type of lifestyle that worked for him.
