Ahmed has dreamed all his life of finding a way through which he could provide significant changes to human lives through his passion. All of this led him towards various paths in life.
Nowadays though, he has found a way to concentrate all of his effort on four different fronts, all with the same goals.
The Art of Philanthropy
Ahmed Najm is the managing director of Metrography Agency, the first and only Iraqi photo agency, and Worldpress Photo, an outlet with the main goal of connecting the world with stories that matter.
He is also the co-founder of Vim foundation, a charity organization that seeks to deal with many of the major problems currently on the throat of our society such as natural disasters, inequality, hazards, among a host of others.
And lastly, through Humans of Kurdistan, where he is also a co-founder, Ahmed Najm harnesses the power of beautiful photography to touch and inspire people all around.
Now all of these endeavors show Mr. Najm’s love for the art of philanthropy. And it is also just as fascinating that he does it through basically the same medium.
The Art of Storytelling
Ahmed Najm’s medium is storytelling. He loves storytelling and basically specializes in doing this through photography. Everyone who is familiar with the world of photography knows that there have been some really amazing moments and the changes brought about thanks to the camera.
With Najm, though, his major aim is to help discover and empower numerous photographers all around the region – and indeed the world – with stories to tell but not a big enough platform to tell it.
Through his various foundations and organizations, Ahmed Najm has provided a great arsenal to equip these amazing photographers. And what’s more, he’s also helping them to inspire and change lives in a profound way.
How We See the World
There is one world, but more than one way to see it. According to Ahmed Najm, the best way to see the world is by capturing people in their daily lives and making ordinary things extraordinary.
This is one of the reasons Ahmed Najm does what he does in the world of photography and philanthropy. If only we could inspire more people to see the world the right way. To see their fellow humans as wonderful people.
If we can stop the stereotypes associated with people from a particular region by using the power of photography to show that these people are beautiful and kind and creative, then that would be a win for all of the world.
