In honor of Stranger Things Day in 2024, Netflix has unveiled the episode titles for the fifth and final season of the hit show.
The mega-streamer also announced that the season would be released in 2025, not 2026, as previously suggested online.
Stranger Things season five will consist of eight episodes, as have practically all prior seasons, with the exception of seasons two and four, which both contained nine.
The episodes have the following names: “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing of _____,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” “Escape From Camazotz,” “The Bridge” and “The Rightside Up.
While the video disclosed the episode titles, the second episode’s title, “The Vanishing Of,” looked to be obscured. Whatever (or anyone) is disappearing, Netflix is not yet ready to share. The title also alludes to a possible reference to Stranger Things’ debut episode, “The Vanishing of Will Byers.”Despite a quick teaser confirming the final season’s release in 2025, the streamer did not indicate when it would premiere next year. However, the video does state, “In the fall of 1987, one last adventure begins,” which may or may not imply that Stranger Things season five will premiere on Netflix in late 2025. Previous seasons of the Emmy-winning show have been released during the summer or fall.

Every year on November 6, Stranger Things Day commemorates the day Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) went missing from Hawkins, Indiana, in 1983, beginning off the series’ events. Despite the fact that the entire town had given up on locating Will, his friends and family continued to search, eventually discovering a strange girl known as Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
The fifth and final season of the series will begin sometime after the events of the season four finale — spoiler alert! — in which Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) successfully wreaked havoc on Hawkins and divided the town into four sections.
While little is known about the plot of Stranger Things season 5, co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer have disclosed a few details. First, Will is a “big part and focus” of the final season, which will presumably bring the program back to season one, when he was locked in the Upside Down. Second, Season 5 will have a time jump, as confirmed by Wednesday’s teaser. It will not be a significant step ahead, however, because season four was set in spring 1986. Third, Vecna will return.
