Two people were killed and 14 injured on Saturday in a shooting at a nightclub and in neighboring roads in Norway’s capital Oslo, Norwegian police said.
A suspect accepted to be the sole culprit was apprehended, police told reporters.
The crime location reached out from the London Pub through an adjoining club and onwards to a close by road where the suspect was caught a couple of moments after the shooting started, police representative Tore Barstad told.
The London Pub is a famous gay bar and nightclub in the center of Oslo.
“I saw a man show up with a bag, he picked up a gun and begun to fire,” journalist Olav Roenneberg of public broadcaster NRK reported.
It was not quickly clear what was the thought for the attack.
Oslo is due to hold its annual Pride parade later on Saturday.
“Two people are affirmed dead,” the Oslo police department said in a tweet.
Around 14 people were taken to hospital, a few with severe wounds, police said.
Helicopters floated above central Oslo while ambulance and police car sirens were heard across the city.
Oslo’s university hospital said it had gone on red alert following the shooting.
