New Delhi (India), August 6: Ajinkya Mahadeo Ghadge is a dynamic Software Development Engineering Lead at one of the top tech travel companies in Seattle. He has made significant strides in the realm of payment processing and artificial intelligence. With a robust career spanning over a decade, Ajinkya’s work has consistently pushed the boundaries of technology, driving innovation and efficiency in every project he undertakes.

Professional Journey and Achievements
After completing his undergraduate degree like most aspiring engineers in India, Ajinkya attended The University of Texas at Arlington for his master’s degree in computer science. His journey in the tech industry began with his role as a Research Scientist at the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute, where he made notable contributions to the Adaptive Robot Nursing Assistant project, which was funded by the National Science Foundation. His work involved developing voice-enabled applications and Amazon Alexa skills to control assistive robots, which are actively used in Texas Health Research Institute hospitals. This early exposure to cutting-edge technology laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
After his graduation in 2018, Ajinkya was invited to join Amplero Inc. (now Curinos), an AI marketing startup in Seattle. At Amplero, he was one of the lead engineers where he designed and developed microservices for the core AI platform, which leveraged multi-armed bandit experimentation to offer KPI-driven marketing solutions for enterprise customers. His notable projects included a cost-tracking and capacity-monitoring service, which saved computation costs by 30%, and a web-based ETL service for Petsmart Inc., which was one of Amplero’s customers at the time. These innovations not only enhanced the platform’s efficiency but also significantly improved customer retention and marketing decision-making capabilities. Amplero was later acquired by Novantas in January 2020 which was later renamed Curinos.
Leadership and Innovations
Ajinkya’s current role, which he has held since January 2020, is to lead a 10-member engineering team within the Pay-In ecosystem, his teams own pivotal services to process transactions over $100 billion annually across 155 countries and 45+ currencies.
Ajinkya’s work has had a profound impact on the payment processing landscape. His development of an authentication service, which performs two-factor 3DS authentication as per PSD2 and SCA regulations, has enhanced security for European and APAC customers. This service is crucial in today’s digital economy, where secure transactions are paramount.
Moreover, Ajinkya’s efforts in improving the operational efficiency of services through re-architecting existing systems and optimizing database queries have resulted in significant performance gains. His leadership in mentoring engineers and establishing robust development processes has fostered a culture of excellence and innovation within his organization.
When Ajinkya was asked about his favorite accomplishments, he highlighted the recent launch of Apple Pay’s expansion on the travel platform, specifically targeting the rapidly growing markets in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. These regions are pivotal in the travel industry, and the expansion is projected to significantly enhance the platform’s market presence and growth trajectory.
Academic and Professional Recognition
Ajinkya’s contributions have been recognized through various publications and honors. He has published several papers on assistive robotics and AI, and his work has been featured in prestigious conferences like the ASME Dynamic Systems and Controls Conference and the Florida Conference on Recent Advances in Robotics. His academic excellence was highlighted by his membership in Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors, recognizing him as one of the top 1% of graduate students at the University of Texas at Arlington. Recently, he was also honored as a Senior Member with IEEE.
Looking Forward
Ajinkya Ghadge’s vision for the future is centered on harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to drive further advancements in payment processing and beyond. His relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence continues to set new benchmarks in the tech industry, making him an asset to any organization and a leading figure in his field.
