Mark Gurman of Bloomberg says that a third-generation Apple Watch SE will be released later this year and will have a “new look” of some sort.
Gurman did not provide any precise design information at this time, but he did name the updated Apple Watch SE as one of many new products that Apple wants to debut in 2025 in his Power On newsletter today.
Gurman stated in September that the upcoming Apple Watch SE might feature a plastic case, similar to the vibrant iPhone 5c from a decade ago. He stated at the time that Apple experienced certain “cost and quality challenges” when switching from aluminum to plastic for the case, but he thought the project was still proceeding. Today, he made no mention of plastic.
Parents wishing to buy an Apple Watch for a child may find an inexpensive Apple Watch SE with a vibrant plastic design tempting.
September 2022 saw the release of the latest Apple Watch SE. It starts at $249 in the United States.
Along with the design modifications, a new chip is probably going to be included in the upcoming Apple Watch SE to provide speedier performance than the current model.
The Apple Watch SE 3 is anticipated to go on sale in September.
