On Disney+, “Daredevil: Born Again” had a successful debut. The first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again aired on March 4; the Marvel revival will air for the remainder of March and early April.
The Marvel Television series received 7.5 million views in its first five days of availability on Disney+, according to the Mouse House. A view is calculated by dividing the total stream duration by the runtime. This year, it is the largest streaming debut on the site. Officially, the show debuted on March 4.
Since Disney rarely releases data on viewership for its streaming series, it is challenging to make precise comparisons. However, to put things in perspective, earlier this year, it was reported that the drama “Paradise,” starring Sterling K. Brown, received 7 million views within its first nine days of streaming on Hulu and Disney+. In the first week of its release in September 2024, the premiere episode of the other Marvel series, “Agatha All Along,” had 9.3 million views.
Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, and Jon Bernthal all made their comebacks in “Daredevil: Born Again” after previously appearing in the Marvel-Netflix series “Daredevil.” Margarita Levieva, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, and Ayelet Zurer are among the other cast members.
As the vigilante Daredevil, Cox reprises his role as the film’s title character, Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who spends his nights fighting criminals in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. Wilson Fisk, often known as Kingpin, is a classic Marvel supervillain that D’Onofrio plays.
Positive reviews have also been given to the show; Aramide Tinubu wrote in her Variety review that “This ‘Daredevil’ revival is wonderfully complex. The show takes a sledgehammer to its former Netflix world, allowing the titular character and those orbiting him to transform under the weight and pain of time.”
Dario Scardapane is the executive producer and showrunner of the series. Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Matt Corman & Chris Ord, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Kevin Feige serve as executive producers. Along with David Boyd, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and Michael Cuesta, Benson and Moorhead also served as the series’ directors.
