Google introduced an experimental version of its AI Mode in India, which is driven by generative artificial intelligence (gen AI), at the end of June. It was only available to a select group of Google Labs signups, though.
All users in the subcontinent can now access the AI Mode. Google Labs registration is not required. AI Mode is available to anyone using Chrome on a desktop computer, the Google Search app on an iPhone, or an Android mobile device.
As previously mentioned, Google’s most recent customized version of the Gemini 2.5 large language AI model powers AI Mode. The most sophisticated multi-modal gen AI feature, it can comprehend complex queries in text and voice and is guaranteed to provide the most accurate response.
In addition to providing a list of websites that answer questions, it may respond in simple English or any other language that is supported, ensuring that users receive the right answer.
Google Search’s AI Mode will function similarly to two individuals conversing with one another.
For example, users can ask where Hampi is by tapping on the AI Mode on the Google Search app. It will display the location’s specifics, and the user can ask several follow-up questions, like important details like the number of visitors to Karnataka, one of India’s most historical ancient cities.
The inquiry fan-out technique is how the AI Mode operates. In order to go deeper into the web and present hyper-relevant content that aligns with the user’s question, it divides the user’s query into subtopics and concurrently clusters additional related questions.
It can even provide real-world information in the form of a Knowledge Graph. It can also provide shopping information for billions of things if you’re trying to find anything to buy.
Additionally, Google Lens has AI Mode. Users will be able to ask the Google search app questions using the camera on their phone.
