Grit that’s the first thing that comes to mindwhen you look at Dae Jones’s journey so far. Dae Jones is an American rapper, singer, and entrepreneur who hails from Chicago, Illinois. She wears many hats—literally, being the CEO of her line of hats, hair My Snap N Go, and active in the music scene trying to follow other entrepreneur with rappers like Meg the StallionCardi B and City Girls.
Her latest EP has gone through some talented and classy production with award-winning producers like DreDay, Dorant, Jesus of Litgang, and Derelle Rideout working on it. The end product of her single “No DaesOff”is a no doubt a banger with some heavy punchlines, exciting lyrics, and oozing sass, and a determined spirit all through. It moves away from the conventional rap music videos to make securing the bag a salacious topic that everyone will be happy to sing about. Her vocals are impeccable, and the song is surprisingly catchy—just the type of music to bob your head to or find some witty punchlines to finish off a hater with.
This new EP No Daes Off couldn’t be further from the truth about Dae Jones’ life. Her lyrics are on point about how her music deals have panned out. When her deal with Island Records didn’t work out, she managed to get her EP’s rights and put in the work to make sure it is released. This is the same sense of self-belief that informsher decision to sell the EP for $100. We must add that the $100 price tag comes with select merchandise from her brand M Snap N Go. This has earned her comparison to another multitalented rapper/entrepreneur, Nipsey Hussle, a comparison she loves and even recently started going by Dae Jones Hussle.
When she finishes the track by saying, “we’re doing the same thing, but we are not the same,” you can’t help but feel that there is more to come from Dae. We will keep looking out for her empowering and sex-positive records.
