Ghana has always been dedicated to creating a cinema-friendly ecosystem for those who want to use their creative juices in order to make movies and cinemas. Ghana has everything that makes it a cinema gateway to Africa and it has only been reaffirmed with the new agreement between The National Film Authority of Ghana and Pixel Ray Studio LLC as they signed a landmark agreement to construct a full-service world-class film studio in West Africa.
Pixel Ray Studios, a worldwide production company, has made news with its recent partnership with the National Film Authority of Ghana to construct 10 sound stages on over 200 acres of property in Ghana. In addition to the sound stages, Pixel Ray Studios plans to incorporate this new state-of-the-art multi-use facility with an array of high-tech spaces for film, television, and other entertainment productions including film post-production suites and globally trained professionals and locally based crew members.
The momentous declaration that was made at the event “Investing in Africa’s Future” is estimated to create 11,000 jobs for the local economy. As announced by Amplify Africa at this year’s Africon conference, a gathering of high-profile industry insiders, the top-of-the-line studio will be offering post-production and production services to local clients and international film producers as well. The studio also be providing visual and audio effects and animation services to local and international films (scripted and unscripted content, films, TV series, commercials, OTT content, podcasts, and music videos).
This agreement between the National Film Authority of Ghana and Pixel Ray Studio will also allow for the development of a legal framework that will establish new ground rules regarding the creation, nurturing, and growth of the Ghanaian and African film industry which is a required step in order to make Ghana film industry a robust and attractive destination for the film producers and directors from all around the globe.
The Ghanaian expansion of Pixel Ray Studios will just be another gem in its crown as it is known for its expertise in production, distribution, and entertainment. Pixel Ray founders include entertainment entrepreneur Audu Maikori, ESQ (Founder, Chocolate City Group), Franklin “Twizz” David (Chairman, Twizz Talent Management), and Ojoma Ochai (Managing Partner of The Creative Economy Practice at CcHUB).
