Google is boosting mobile users’ access through the App Stores by formally introducing the NotebookLM mobile app during its I/O developer conference. The product has moved from limited beta to wider availability with this release; the app now reflects the web-based capabilities while focusing more on an audio-first experience.
The mobile app, which was exclusively accessible on desktops since its 2023 launch, is now online and provides users with document analysis, smart summaries, and the opportunity to ask questions about uploaded materials—all from the comfort of their smartphones.
NotebookLM’s capabilities, including as intelligent summaries and the ability to query papers and other materials, are intended to assist users better understand difficult information.

Additionally, NotebookLM is incorporated into the share sheet for iOS and Android, which makes it simple to save anything directly from other apps as sources for a notebook. This includes websites, YouTube videos, and PDFs.
The title, emoji, source count, latest changed date, and Audio Overview play button are displayed on each notebook card.
Key features of the NotebookLM app
Audio Overviews: NotebookLM’s AI-generated podcasts based on the source materials you have supplied are accessible through the app. Audio Overviews can be listened to offline and in the background.
Interactive Sessions: Users can interact with the AI hosts during audio summaries by asking follow-up questions or delving deeper into particular passages of the content.
Additionally, users can examine their previously made notes and create new ones using the app. Additionally, you may add a webpage, PDF, or YouTube video as a new source by tapping the share symbol and choose NotebookLM while you’re watching it on your smartphone. In each notebook, users may also see the sources they have previously uploaded.
Offline access: NotebookLM allows users to download audio summaries for offline use, so they don’t require a live internet connection.
Light and dark mode: A light and dark mode is another feature of NotebookLM on iOS and Android that is applied according to the system settings of the user’s device.
Although the NotebookLM app is free to use, access to additional notebooks, sources per notebook, and Audio Overviews may be obtained with a paid subscription. Currently, using NotebookLM Plus requires a Google One AI Premium membership, which costs Rs. 1,950 a month.
