The year 2024 has arrived, bringing with it growing anticipation for a number of forthcoming Chicago events showcasing the latest innovations in cars of all stripes.
A busy start to the new year is anticipated with the annual Chicago RV & Camping Show, Chicago Boat Show, and Chicago Auto Show, all of which are slated to take place in the first two months of the year.
In less than a week, on Tuesday, the Chicago Boat Show will begin the hectic convention season. Held at the McCormick Place over five days from January 10 to 14, the event is free to attend.
The Chicago Boat Show hours for 2024 are listed below:
- Wednesday, 1/10: 2-8 p.m.
- Thursday, 1/11: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Friday, 1/12: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, 1/13: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Sunday, 1/14: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Adult entry costs $13 online or $15 on the spot, while children 12 years and under enter free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.

There will be lots of activities at this year’s exhibition, including brand-new kid-sized bumper boats, a pool for stand-up paddle boarding, and a mechanical wave surf simulator.
January’s Boat Show will be followed by the nation’s largest vehicle display, the 10-day Chicago vehicle Show, one of the most anticipated events of the year.
The festivities at this year’s Chicago Auto display, which will also take place at the McCormick Place, will kick off on February 8 with a two-day media preview before the public display.
On February 9th, there will be an event called “First Look for Charity” before the show opens on Saturday, February 10th.
The show will continue through Monday, February 19, Presidents’ Day.
The Chicago Auto Show this year will open daily at 10 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. on February 10 and February 12–18.
The exhibition will end on February 11 at 6 p.m. and on February 19 at 8 p.m.
The vehicles on display in 2024 are still to be announced, but this year’s event will feature the latest innovations in automotive technology.
The charge for adults is $17 per person; children (4–12 years old) and seniors (62 years of age and up) pay $12 per person. Children under the age of three enter free of charge.
While the Chicago Auto Show is going on, enthusiasts of much larger cars should take a break and visit the annual Chicago RV & Camping Show, held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre in Rosemont.
The exhibition this year will feature booth displays linked to campgrounds and new 2024 models with special show rates from Thursday, February 15 to Sunday, February 18.
The following hours will apply to the show’s operation:
- Thursday, 2/15: 12-8 p.m.
- Friday, 2/16: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, 2/17: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Sunday, 2/18: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Adults 13 and older can purchase a $14 one-day ticket; a $19 multi-day ticket is also available. Children aged 6 to 12 pay $4 for tickets, and a multi-day pass costs $7 for them.
