Hello Lucia , where are from?
I feel like I am from everywhere. I was born in Brazil, but I moved around a lot, from the UAE to Germany. I lived in the US, and currently, I live in Spain but I consider the US my home.
Tell me about your professional background.
I am a book author and physiotherapist specialized in children’s Neuro-rehabilitation and Respiratory Therapy. I worked as a consultant for a clinic in the United States that developed ‘Pediasuit Protocol, which is a new rehabilitation method in which patients wear a specific vest inspired by astronauts’ suits. In relation to this I gave lectures in many countries e.g. Egypt, Malaysia, Portugal and many more. I am also a Neurolinguistic Programming Practitioner and have a background in arts e.g. Drama and creative writing.
Can you tell us why you’ve decided to take your unique background and become a children’s author-illustrator?
I love creating stories for children, drawing upon my knowledge in special needs for children to create self-empowering content. I illustrate my own books since painting and drawing are two of my passions.
What are your books about?
My books are about inclusion, diversity and friendship. I want to show kids and their parents that having special needs or being different is completely normal.
What is UNCUT WITH LUCIA?
Uncut is a show where I will interview various authors and writers in a more open and unedited way. UNCUT is a candid interview, which will allow them to be themselves. Authors and writers don’t often get the chance to speak their minds and I want to give them this space. This unique concept was idealized by the founder of WorldAuthors.Org, Gaurav Gulati; which is the first renowned non-profit digital magazine that is dedicated to writes articles, gives press releases and fun interviews about authors, writers and scriptwriters.
So why are you on UNCUT?
Writing has always been my passion and I recently published a trilogy of children’s books. I also love connecting with people through my passion. This is also my way to give back to a field that I love so much. Because it is being filmed, it is also allowing us to get to know authors and writers and give them a chance to showcase themselves and their work.
What are you looking forward to the most with UNCUT?
I am looking forward to picking their brains and seeing where they get their inspiration, what their writing routine is, how they manage their personal lives or other jobs with their writing. I am just looking forward to get to know what their real life is about.
How would you describe the format?
I want it to be a more relaxed format, almost like I am having a guest over for dinner to discuss writing or anything that’s on their mind. I am hoping to have a conversation rather than an interview.
What’s the vision for UNCUT?
Authors and other creatives telling their life stories and journeys.
