A common assumption about people who are in good shape is that it is probably genetic and that they have been blessed with a metabolism that renders them immune to fluctuating weight. Not for Saim Ali, he had worked for his shape and position.“You’re not made for fashion, you can’t make it in this industry”… , these are the words that spurred Saim Ali to become what he is now.
Saim was a chubby kid who wanted to become a model but was generally rejected and pushed around due to his shape. One day a choreographer/fashion designer cruelly despised him and said those words to him, “you are not made for fashion; you can’t make it in this industry”. And that was the defining moment of his life. “That was the best thing anyone could have said to me as it spurred me on”, saim said.
Saim Ali decided to hit the gym and he did for a year and half and then proved everyone wrong by appearing on a magazine cover. From then on, Saim was not only in fashion shows locally, but he was also a show-stopper at several international shows too.
“It wasn’t easy growing up,” saim says “but you know what, I’m grateful that it happened otherwise I wouldn’t be the person I am today or have this motivation. I told myself I wanted a life worth living and since then, I’ve been disciplined, and that self-discipline has led to my current state of happiness and peace” he continued.

Syed Saim Ali is based in Lahore and ranked amongst the leading fashion designers in Pakistan, gaining international repute as well. He gets lots of inspiration from his mother Farrah Gillari who is also a fashion designer. He fondly wants her to be around always.
His work ethics, designs and variety of outfits are breathtaking, including many types of eastern and western for both men and women. The design philosophy of Mr. Ali is about designing stylish, comfortable yet simple outfits.
Saim believes anyone can change their life if they believe in themselves.
