After showing up in the first two Thor films, Oscar champ Natalie Portman retired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and didn’t return as Chris Hemsworth’s love interest for 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. Be that as it may, the actress sent Marvel fans into a frenzy on Monday when she strangely appeared at the Los Angeles debut of Avengers: Endgame.
Portman, 37, last showed up in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, which influences her appearing up to the Endgame carpet somewhat suspicious — and fans quickly got on it.
“Natalie Portman is at the #AvengersEndgame premiere!? Please tell me they bring Dr. Jane Foster back,” one Twitter client composed.
However, while most were freaking out about her potentially being in the movie, another fan conjectured that she would be the key to completion it all.
“natalie portman omg jane is going to defeat thanos,” the fan composed, jokingly speculating that Portman’s character would be the one to kill bad guy Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Endgame will clock in at three hours and two minutes, making it the longest Marvel movie yet. In a new interview with Vulture, the screenwriters of the film, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, demand the film is as “lean” in its runtime as possible.
“It’s exactly as long as it needs to be,” McFeely said. “Any shorter and it would have felt like we weren’t honoring all the threads and franchises that are feeding into this climax.”
The movie will follow the occasions of a year ago’s Avengers: Infinity War, with the rest of the Avengers taking on Thanos after he eradicated half the universe’s population.
