With Kayli Carter (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Miriam Silverman (Your Friends and Neighbors), Mallori Johnson (Is God Is), Matt Walsh (Veep), Tattiawna Jones (Murderbot), and Louise Lambert (Chucky) joining as recurring cast members, John Slattery (Mad Men), Jessica Henwick (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), and Ellen Robertson (Mickey 17) have joined Netflix’s limited series Vladimir as series regulars.
Slattery will play John, with Henwick as Cynthia, Robertson as Sid, Carter as Lila, Silverman as Florence, Johnson as Edwina, Walsh as David, Jones as Alexis, and Lambert as Dawn. Leo Woodall will play the title role in the series, which is based on Julia May Jonas’s novel and will star and executive produce Rachel Weisz.
In this eight-episode series, which Jonas developed, wrote, and executive produced, a woman’s life falls apart, and she develops an obsession with her intriguing new colleague. Vladimir, which is full of dark humor, and complex characters, explores what happens when a woman is determined to make her dreams come true.
Weisz, Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, and Kira Carstensen for Merman (Bad Sisters, Divorce), Jason Winer & Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company, and Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (Fleishman Is in Trouble, American Splendor) will executive produce and direct three episodes, including the pilot. The studio is 20th Television.
Known for his roles in Mad Men and Spotlight, Slattery is a four-time Emmy nominee. He will next be seen in the historical thriller Nuremberg, which stars Rami Malek, Russell Crowe, and Michael Shannon. He will also be seen in USA’s The Rainmaker and David Wain’s upcoming film, which the director recently hinted at on our Comedy Means Business podcast. He is represented by Gersh and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Henwick is presently featured on Apple’s Silo and is a BAFTA nominee. Game of Thrones, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Sofia Coppola’s On the Rocks, and Marvel’s Iron Fist are just a handful of the previous credits. She will next be seen in Emily the Criminal’s John Patton Ford’s thriller Huntington, which is distributed by A24/StudioCanal. CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman represent her.
WME, United Agents, Linden Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen represent Robertson, who has appeared in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 and television series like Breeders and Black Mirror.
