The lockdown saw the return of the Golden Age show ‘Ramayana’ on DD National on the huge demand of people on social media. This old show by Ramanand Sagar has once again proved its popularity. On air, the show broke all the TRP records.
Talking about the TRP of Ramayana show, so far no show is in competition. Even from the year 2015 till now, it has become the best show in terms of general entertainment category. Information about the TRP rating of the show has been given by DD National’s CEO Shashi Shekhar. He tweeted, I am having a lot of fun telling that the show ‘Ramayana’ which is airing on Doordarshan has become the highest TRP-generating Hindi general entertainment show since after 2015.

He further states that it is a record for Doordarshan ever since BARC started rating in 2015. Doordarshan is also being watched fiercely during the fight with Corona.

‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharata’ were re-telecasted after social media demand. After this, people also demanded the Indian super hero show ‘Shaktimaan’. Now it is also being aired on Doordarshan. Apart from this, shows like Byomkesh Bakshi, Fauji, Circus, Dekh Bhai Dekh and Mr. Shrimati have also returned. Significantly, the shooting of TV shows has been stopped since March 19.
