Following several months of beta testing, Samsung has begun distributing One UI 9, its Android 17-based software update, to select Galaxy devices.
Samsung confirmed the rollout in a newsroom post, officially announcing that One UI 9 is now being released. The Android 17-based software first arrived on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Flip 8 in July.
For now, the stable release is limited to the Galaxy S26 lineup – S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The launch follows roughly four months of beta testing and suggests that a broader release could arrive within the next few weeks. Samsung says the update will “gradually roll out to other Galaxy devices.”
What’s Included in One UI 9?
Samsung’s Android 17 update introduces several notable additions, including:
My FanCam: Automatically tracks and reframes a selected subject in video.
Generative and Editable Cards: New capabilities within Now Brief.
Warranty and Care: Warranty and support information is now available through the Settings menu.
Additional Galaxy AI features: Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder.
Privacy and security tools: Security Brief, Privacy Alerts, and Scam Detection.
In a footnote related to Privacy Alerts, Samsung provides at least part of the list of Galaxy devices expected to receive Android 17, including:

However, the list is clearly not intended to represent every eligible device. For instance, the S26+ is absent, while Samsung has also promised updates for the S25+/Ultra and other models. The footnote additionally contains a “Fol6” typo, so although the list offers a useful indication of which devices are expected to receive the update, it does not cover the complete lineup.
