Taylor Swift is releasing additional versions of her latest song from Toy Story 5, “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
On Sunday (June 7), the 36-year-old pop icon made acoustic and piano renditions of the song available as digital downloads.
Swift revealed the new releases through her Instagram Story, where she shared Apple Music links for both versions of the track. The songs can also be purchased separately for 99 cents each through her website.
The original studio recording of “I Knew It, I Knew You” debuted on Friday (June 5) and is featured on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. The fifth chapter of the animated series is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 19, with the soundtrack being released on the same date.
Swift formally announced on June 1 that she had contributed “I Knew It, I Knew You” to Toy Story 5, while simultaneously making physical editions of the song available through her website. Prior to this release, the acoustic and piano versions were exclusively offered as CD singles.
Written from Jessie’s point of view, the track follows the cowgirl as she looks back on treasured memories with Woody while reigniting her relationship with Buzz Lightyear as the toys set off on fresh adventures together.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once,” Swift wrote on X. “And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”
“I Knew It, I Knew You” also serves as another partnership between Swift and longtime producer Jack Antonoff.
Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton applauded the collaboration, stating, “It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song.”
The movie brings back franchise veterans Tom Hanks and Tim Allen in the roles of Woody and Buzz Lightyear, while Joan Cusack reprises her role as Jessie. In this installment, the beloved toys encounter a new obstacle as modern technology and tablets vie for the attention of today’s children.
