A popular restaurant on the Magnificent Mile is about to permanently close.
After more than 20 years in operation, Grand Lux Café revealed to NBC Chicago last month that they will close at the end of the holiday season.
The restaurant released a statement saying, “We are working with our staff to help them transition to other opportunities in one of our nearby concepts.” “We have enjoyed being a part of the downtown Chicago community and hope that our guests will continue to dine with us at our other restaurants in the area.”
The announcement continued by saying that on December 24, Grand Lux Café will close its doors to patrons. Starting on Christmas Day, it will be closed.
The Cheesecake Factory originally opened the restaurant, but it did not provide an explanation for its planned closure.
Reservations were not accepted on the restaurant’s website as of December 11, however takeaway and delivery were.
Along the city’s famous shopping strip, Grand Lux joins AT&T, Verizon, and Old Navy as companies that have lately closed.
According to the company, its operating hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
