Want to take a vacation but don’t want to deal with flying? Instead, you may want to consider a staycation at one of the “most-loved” Airbnbs in the state.
As a part of its “2023 Winter Release,” Airbnb unveiled a new feature called “Guest Favourites,” which collection the two million “most loved” properties on the platform according to reliability, reviews, and ratings from over 500 million trips.
“People often describe checking into an Airbnb as a ‘moment of truth’— when you find out if the home you booked meets your expectations,” Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky wrote in an announcement about the new feature. “Too often, it doesn’t. We’re changing that today. With Guest Favorites, revamped reviews, and the new Listings tab, you’ll now know exactly what to expect every time you book.”
“Guest Favorites” are properties with a rating of 4.9 or above, according to Airbnb. According to the announcement, they also have a track record of reliability, with not much host cancellations and problems with high-quality customer support.
“These homes also receive high marks for ease of check-in, cleanliness, listing accuracy, Host communication, location, and value,” the release stated.
According to Airbnb, one out of every three listings in this category has a daily rate that is less than $100.
“Guest Favourite” listings in Illinois range from an Alvin “converted grain bin” to a Chicago flat and a Carbondale bungalow.
