While there are still some trains left in the limited number, it’s getting harder to visit the CTA’s Holiday Train this year.
Trains on the Pink and Blue lines will run this coming week, and on Saturday, passengers on the Blue Line will be able to snap pictures with Santa Claus, according to the CTA website.

Line in Pink
CTA officials have stated that on Tuesday, December 12, and Wednesday, December 13, the Holiday Train will pass through the Pink Line.
Dec. 12
The loop to 54th/Cermak: 2:43 p.m.
3:10 p.m.: Loop to 54th/Cermak.
The loop to 54th/Cermak: 4:16 p.m.
4:43 p.m.: Loop to 54th/Cermak.

December 13:
The loop to 54th/Cermak: 3:06 p.m.
3:33 p.m.: Loop to 54th/Cermak.
Cermak/54th: 4:44 p.m.
5:11 p.m.: Loop to 54th/Cermak.
The Blue Line
For the remainder of the week, the Holiday Train will run on the Blue Line, with trips planned from Thursday through Saturday.
At 3:13 p.m. on Thursday, the train will depart from O’Hare and travel all the way to Forest Park. At 4:57 p.m., the return trip will depart.
The train will depart from O’Hare on Friday at 4:13 p.m. and return from Forest Park at 6:02 p.m.
There will be a chance for riders to get pictures with Santa on Saturday. At 1:50 p.m., the train will depart from Racine, and at 3:53 p.m., it will leave Forest Park and return to O’Hare.
The Yellow Line
A two-car version of the Holiday Train will operate on Thursday, December 21, provided that service on the Yellow Line is restored by the end of the month. The service is currently suspended due to a crash that occurred earlier this year.
Trains will leave Howard at 3:08 PM and arrive back at Dempster-Skokie at 7:07 PM. Trains arriving from Howard will depart between 3:08 PM and 6:53 PM.
