The Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will be available from OnePlus on December 26. Following the phones’ listing at the Oppo Store in China, the brand disclosed the date. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will power the vanilla model, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the Pro, according to Louis Jie, president of OnePlus China.
The OnePlus Ace 5 will be so strong that the chipset will feel like Gen 3.5, the executive continued. It will completely transform the premium smartphone experience rather than merely be an upgrade.
A tiny Si/C battery, dubbed Glacier Battery Technology by OnePlus, will also be included with the new phones. We are still awaiting specifics, but it is basically a thinner cell with a higher mAh capacity.
We anticipate that the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will have similar dimensions and most of the same hardware, such as a 6.78″ LTPO AMOLED display and a 50 MP main + 50 MP telephoto + 2 MP macro camera setup.
One anticipated difference is the chipset, however the Ace 5 Pro will feature a 6,100 mAh cell, while the Ace 5 may have a larger battery.
