Adobe has expanded the market for its suite of picture editing tools by launching Photoshop Mobile for Android, just months after introducing a version for iPhones. Several premium tools and features are available for free with this new software, which is still under beta testing as the company irons out any bugs.
Because Adobe Photoshop is so crucial to the photographic industry, image editing has come to be associated with the program. After 30 years, Adobe released its first mobile app exclusively for Photoshop in February. Now, Android users can enjoy the same experience.
Adobe revealed on Tuesday that the Photoshop software for the most widely used Android handsets will be accessible on the Google Play Store. The only prerequisite for the free Android app (beta) is a smartphone running Android 11 or later with at least 6GB of RAM—8GB is recommended for best performance.
Users that prefer to work on their phones or edit and design while on the go are the target audience for this software. Photoshop novices may find the desktop layout daunting at first, but the app’s user-friendly, mobile-friendly interface also makes it easier to use.
Hundreds of free Adobe Stock items are available to Android users during the beta period, along with features like the spot-healing brush, erase and clone stamp, and the ability to merge, composit, and mix photographs using selects, layers, and masks.
Two of Adobe’s most well-known generative AI-powered Photoshop features are Generative Fill and Generative Expand
Because users may enlarge photographs and add or delete parts with realistic results, these Firefly-supported AI features have gone viral on social media. Adobe is also incorporating Photoshop mobile tutorials into the product to assist new users in navigating the program and learning how to utilize its features.

Adobe released a Photoshop software for iPhones back in February that was far more feature-rich than Photoshop Express. More functionality, like layers, masking, and blending, that were available in the desktop version were made available to users in this updated edition.
Importantly, Adobe’s Generative Fill feature, which uses Firefly AI to fill in areas of images based on contextual information or user prompts, or to create images out of entire cloth, like the ones I made above of a cat on top of a pizza, will also be included in the Photoshop for Android (beta) version, just like it is in the iPhone version.

This feature is similar to the iPhone version.
You can quickly undo anything you don’t like because, like its other apps, all of the adjustments you make are nondestructive.
Although the app may be downloaded for free, you will need to purchase a membership in order to enjoy all of its features, which costs $7.99 per month or $70 annually. However, executives from Adobe stated that all of the Android app’s capabilities would be available without a subscription for a short period of time.
For Android 11 or later devices with at least 6GB of RAM (8GB or more is recommended), Photoshop on Android (beta) can be downloaded via the Google Play store.
