According to a report from both businesses, Chicago’s Ferrara Candy Company is anticipated to acquire California’s Jelly Belly later this year under an undisclosed agreement.
Jelly Belly, formerly known as the Goelitz Confectionery Company, was established in 1869 in Belleville, Illinois, and today offers more than 100 flavours of jelly beans. The business relocated to North Chicago in 1913 and then, roughly ten years later, shifted its headquarters to northern California.
After the transaction is completed, Jelly Belly’s almost 800 employees in California, Illinois, and Thailand will join Ferrara.

By the end of 2023, the transaction will most likely be completed. The agreement’s precise provisions have not been made public.
