Google Workspace has benefited greatly from Gemini, which lets users improve their interactions with productivity apps like Docs and Sheets. A new Gemini feature that summarizes Google Drive folders before you view them in the web interface has just been added to Google Drive.

Google Drive for Web recently added a new Gemini feature that can summarize entire folders to its already extensive list of features. When there are big folders but the user doesn’t want to go through them all just now, this can be done.
Gemini will open the side panel and provide a brief description of all the folder’s apparent contents if you right-click on it and select “Summarize this folder.” In order to have Google’s AI perform a thorough analysis, users can also drag the folder onto the Gemini side panel.
The tool accurately provides a brief overview of the contents of the folder in tests. Google says that includes folders containing spreadsheets, presentations, text documents, and PDFs. In case, it was capable of recognizing pictures within a folder. When asked to describe the contents of photo folder, Gemini mentioned well-known logos and branding.
According to Google, the feature will be made available progressively starting yesterday, December 11. In two weeks or fewer, users should be able to access the new feature, which will be available to Google One AI Premium accounts as well as Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, and Education Premium accounts.
