KATSEYE is prepared to attract fans into their newest sonic universe. On Friday, June 28, the six-member girl group released BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, their eagerly awaited second EP, which represents a bold evolution from the dreamy, melodic pop of their debut.
Following the viral success of the first track “Gnarly,” which foreshadowed the high-energy hyperpop and dance-infused approach that currently characterizes the entire EP, the project was released via HYBE x Geffen Records.
The project comes less than a year after the release of SIS (Soft Is Strong), which produced hits like “Touch” and “Debut” and shot KATSEYE to the top of Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, however, is a new era that is louder and more unrepentant than its predecessor.
“We are so excited to invite you into this beautiful and chaotic world that we have built. Thank you for being here,” the group stated in a joint statement before the release.
With members hailing from six countries, the EP highlights the group’s global identity and their goal of breaking molds within the pop landscape. BEAUTIFUL CHAOS offers a diverse yet unified soundtrack by balancing glistening production with emotional intensity, thanks to producers like John Ryan, Andrew Watt, and Justin Tranter.
Instead, KATSEYE is looking for something more lasting than chart positions. “We want KATSEYE to be timeless and to have a lasting influence. Not just for now—we want forever,” the group said.
