At the upcoming CES 2025, Samsung Electronics Co. said on Friday that it will introduce a revolutionary television with three-dimensional audio technology created in collaboration with Google.
Samsung Electronics has announced that Eclipsa Audio, a 3D audio technology, will be integrated into its 2025 TV and soundbar lineup, which will make its debut at this year’s CES beginning on Tuesday in Las Vegas.
The technology dynamically modifies audio data, including sound location, intensity, and spatial reflections, to produce an immersive 3D sound experience.
The Immersive Audio Model and Formats, a cutting-edge 3D spatial audio technology that the Alliance for Open Media endorsed in October 2023, serves as its foundation. Global giants like Google and Samsung Electronics are part of AOM.
With its 2025 TV lineup that includes the premium flagship Neo QLED 8K models and the Crystal UHD series, Samsung Electronics will be the first company in the industry to use this technology.
According to Samsung Electronics, YouTube videos improved with Eclipsa Audio technology will be accessible to viewers on its 2025 devices.
Samsung and Google are working with Korea’s Telecommunications Technology Association to create a certification program for devices that use Eclipsa Audio in order to ensure consistent audio quality.
“We are proud to lead the industry with the integration of Eclipsa Audio into our 2025 TV and soundbar lineup,” Vice Chairman Son Tae-young said. “This innovation opens new possibilities for immersive audio experiences and reinforces our commitment to shaping the future of home entertainment.”
