In 2022, the Kannada cinema industry swept the country by storm with a slew of all-India hits. KGF: Chapter 2 by Hombale Film served as the catalyst. The production company rose to fame after funding both of the KGF movies, which became box office successes. According to reports, both of these movies made Rs 2,000 crores at the box office. While these were high-profile projects, Hombale Films also produced the low-profile movie Kantara with Rishab Shetty, which turned out to be an unexpected hit and reportedly made $400 crores worldwide.
In the years to come, Hombale Films has an intriguing slate of big-budget pan-Indian movies after its successful endeavours.
Hombale films is producing the Prabhas-starring movie Salaar, which is being helmed by KGF director Prashanth Neel. The movie will be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi, among other languages.
Raghu Datta, starring Keerthy Suresh, is also being produced in Tamil by the same production company. This movie is being directed by Suman Kumar, a debutante.
In the next five years, they plan to invest 3,000 crores of rupees in the film business, according to their statement. They have pledged to produce engaging material that will make a mark on their audience’s brains for a long time.
